Green Flash no 48 August 2014 – Wood recycling

We are lucky here in Oxford to have the amazing wood collection and recycling facility, Oxford Wood Recycling, close by at Milton Park. it was set up in 2005 and is owned by its members – its workers and regular volunteers. They provide economic, environmental and social benefits: what they do cuts waste costs for businesses, avoids the need for landfill, and as a Social Enterprise provides opportunities for people to work (in 2010 they were awarded the title of European Social Firm of the Year).
Oxford Wood Recycling, Unit 46a, Western Avenue, Milton Park, Abingdon OX14 4RU. Tel. 01235 861228,
Mon-Fr 0830 – 1630, Sat 0900 – 1300. Website address below.

Having carefully sorted the stuff they collect, they subsequently can supply a wide range of reclaimed wood and construction timber for garden and household projects. Have a look at the gallery page in their Your Upcycling Projects section to be inspired by the things people have made with the wood from OWR.
