DRARA organises several community events a year, many of which involve closing one of our streets to traffic, which provides a rare opportunity for residents to relax, play and socialise right outside our homes.

Our regular main events are the Meal in the Street or the DRARA Fete in June or July, Open Gardens, usually in May/June, and the Film in the Street in mid-September.  This year, as in recent years, we also hope to run Warneford Meadow Apple Day in October (organised jointly with staff from Warneford Hospital), and our twice-yearly Freecycle days.  Carols in Little Minster has proved a really popular festive get-together in the last couple of years – we hope to repeat this again this year, along with our Advent Windows.

Other events (dependent on enthusiastic organisers!) in the past have included Play in the Street or in Sinnet Court, street fairs, a Mayday Olympics, Room in the Street, Art in the Street, and cricket on Oriel Playing Fields.

There is a small band of people who organise all these events and we always need more people to get involved with organising and helping out on the day, so if you’d like to know more about what you can do to help or would like to come along to the meetings, please contact us.
